Once again, it’s高考 season, and students are about to head to the crucial exam hall of their lives. To offer heartfelt encouragement and warm wishes to the examinees in the community, the neighborhood Party branch recently teamed up with the property management company and community volunteers to host a handmade DIY flower‑making event. Using vibrant, colorful pipe cleaners, they crafted sunflower bouquets—each symbolizing “success on the first try.”
The event venue was filled with warmth as property staff and volunteers gathered around a long table, where orange‑yellow, dark green, and brown modeling sticks, scissors, floral tape, and other crafting supplies were neatly arranged. Everyone worked with focused concentration, bending, twisting, and shaping the materials—carefully kneading the modeling‑stick petals, sketching out the flower’s center, and assembling the leaves. With each step carried out patiently and meticulously, the once‑scattered craft supplies gradually transformed into vibrant, full‑bloom sunflowers. Many community volunteers and property workers, clad in red volunteer vests, exchanged tips on crafting while sharing words of encouragement for the upcoming college entrance exams, their cheerful laughter echoing throughout the room.
Sunflowers symbolize a life that turns toward the sun and a bright, promising future. After a busy period of work, neatly arranged bouquets of exquisitely packaged sunflowers now grace the tables. The auspicious meaning of “winning first place” is quietly embedded within each bouquet. Each handcrafted sunflower may lack the polished elegance of commercial flowers, yet it carries the simple, heartfelt care and blessings of neighbors.
This small bouquet of flowers not only eased the pre-exam nerves of the examinees but also allowed students and their parents to feel the heartwarming support of the neighborhood community.
