—The 2026 “Ankang Cup” Skills Competition for Coal Mine Workers in Lishi District was successfully held at our company.

To rigorously implement all work arrangements for workplace safety and effectively enhance the practical skills and standardized operating capabilities of coal‑mine workers, while actively fostering a culture of striving for excellence characterized by competition, learning, emulation, mutual assistance, and surpassing others, and coinciding with the nation’s 25th “Workplace Safety Month,” the Lishi District’s 2026 Coal‑Mine Workers’ “Ankang Cup” Skills Competition was successfully held at Shanxi Datuhe Coking Co., Ltd. on June 16–17.

This event is jointly hosted by the Lishi District Federation of Trade Unions and the District Emergency Management Bureau, with Shanxi Datuhe Coking Co., Ltd. serving as the organizer. Aimed at frontline positions in coal mines within the district, it features three major competition categories—gas inspector, underground electrician, and welder. Eleven coal‑mining enterprises across the district have dispatched their top technical personnel to compete, honing their professional skills through hands‑on challenges and strengthening safety foundations through standardized procedures.

At the opening ceremony, Bai Rongping, the company’s Deputy General Manager for Safety, delivered a welcome address. Wang Yunping, Deputy Director of the District Emergency Management Bureau, and Li Haifeng, Vice Chairman of the District Federation of Trade Unions, each gave motivational speeches. The two leaders emphasized that holding this skills competition is a crucial initiative for strengthening coal‑mine safety management and cultivating skilled personnel. They encouraged all competitors to remain calm and confident, showcasing the solid work ethic and professional competence of coal‑mine workers. At the same time, they urged all coal‑mining enterprises to take this event as an opportunity to deepen meticulous on‑site safety management, embed safety principles in the minds of every employee, ensure the effective implementation of standardized operating procedures, and comprehensively fortify the safety‑production safeguard network across the jurisdiction.

At the meeting, Zhao Guangqing, a contestant from Yongning Coal Industry, and Lü Haijun, Deputy General Manager of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Dongjiang Coal Industry, took to the stage as representatives of the competitors and the judges, respectively, to deliver statements. He Jichun, the company’s Chief Engineer and head of the competition arbitration panel, read out the competition rules on the spot, clearly outlining the evaluation criteria and venue regulations to ensure the event is conducted fairly and in an orderly manner.

The competition venue was charged with a vibrant atmosphere and maintained strict order. All participants rigorously adhered to safety protocols, following standardized procedures and executing practical tasks with precision and skill, thereby demonstrating solid professional competence. After two days of intense and spirited contests, all events were successfully completed, bringing the competition to a triumphant close. The results were announced simultaneously: Li Qinqin from Yongning Coal Industry, Liu Shuwei from Wangjiazhuang Coal Industry, and Du Honggang from Dongjiang Coal Industry each took first place in the Gas Inspection, Underground Electrical, and Welding categories, respectively, while Yongning Coal Industry claimed the team first‑place title.

This skills competition served not only as a comprehensive showcase of on-the-job expertise but also as a profound platform for promoting a culture of safety, fully demonstrating the new-era coal miners’ spirit of meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to excellence. It has helped foster a positive environment in which “everyone learns about safety, everyone masters technical skills, and everyone adheres to established regulations.” The successful organization of the event would not have been possible without the coordinated planning and strong support of the District Party Committee, the District People’s Government, the District Federation of Trade Unions, and the District Emergency Management Bureau in advancing coal‑mine safety production and cultivating skilled industrial talent. Moreover, it has charted a clear course and set higher standards for the district’s ongoing efforts in coal‑mine safety management and workforce development.

Going forward, coal‑mining enterprises in Lishi District will take this “Ankang Cup” competition as a fresh starting point, continuing to strengthen the foundations of workplace safety and refining their systems for cultivating skilled personnel. Meanwhile, frontline miners will remain committed to their duties, diligently studying and practicing, translating the competition’s standards of meticulous operation and rigorous safety awareness into everyday production practices. By upholding uncompromising skills to safeguard the safety red line and by stepping up with practical action and responsibility, they will help drive industry development, thereby building a robust safety framework and fostering a pool of talent to support the high‑quality, sustainable growth of the district’s coal sector.
